Common problems

My alarm didn’t ring

First check Settings → Notifications → EarlyUp and make sure notifications and sounds are allowed. On iOS 26 and later EarlyUp rings through Apple’s AlarmKit, so it fires with the app closed, the phone locked and the ringer off. On earlier iOS versions, open the app the evening before and don’t force-quit it — it keeps a notification chain alive in the background, with backup alerts behind it. If a specific night failed, email us with the time it should have fired.

I can’t turn the alarm off

That is the design: there is no snooze, and silencing the alert drops you into your mission — the ringing comes back until the mission is done. If a mission is impossible right now (for example a photo hunt object you cannot reach), finish any follow-up ring by completing the mission it offers, then lower the difficulty or switch the mission to None in the alarm settings for the future.

My morning didn’t count toward the streak

A day counts only when you record your wake-up before your target time plus a 10-minute grace. You can also record early, any time in the four hours before the alarm. Recording after the window — even if you were technically awake — does not count, and that is intentional. Rest days keep a streak alive; missed mornings don’t.

App Lock isn’t blocking my apps, or won’t release them

App Lock runs on Apple’s Screen Time, which needs its own permission. Open Settings → Screen Time and make sure it is on, then reopen EarlyUp and allow the Screen Time request. Apps stay locked only during the window you chose; when the window ends iOS releases them automatically. EarlyUp never sees which apps you use — the block is enforced by iOS.

I can’t move my alarm

Inside four hours of your wake-up goal the goal locks, so it cannot be moved in a moment of weakness. This is intentional. Outside that window you can change the time, mission and difficulty freely.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they are cancelled in your Apple Account: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → EarlyUp → Cancel Subscription. That stops the renewal; we cannot cancel it from our side. A lifetime purchase is one-time and has nothing to cancel.

I paid, but Plus won’t unlock

This usually means the phone is signed in to a different Apple Account than the one that paid. Check you are on the right account, then use Restore Purchases in the app settings. If it still will not restore, email us and include the receipt Apple sent you.

How do I delete my data?

There is no account, and everything lives on your phone: deleting the app deletes its data. Steps, camera frames and your app list are read only while a mission runs and are never stored or sent anywhere.
